Dance Team Elite Teams (3 total)
A community-based, affordable & character building dance team experience to prepare dancers for high school try-outs. Done at a higher level than the Recreational program, it’s the best way to enjoy ongoing Dance Team classes. Weekly practices are on Tuesdays June through March each year, taking family time off around holidays. DTE allows dancers to perfect additional hip hop moves in a team setting. Attendance will be taken and dancers will be critiqued to make sure they are practicing at home. Dancers will fine tune their hip hop dance skills, attend fall & winter recreational sessions & gain more performance experience at public venues (4+ additional performances around Zville + other special events.) They will learn 1-2 more dance routines (3-4 total per year including the 2 from Recreational Dance Team). Dancers will sport a formal hip hop uniforms and work with additional choreographers and coaches. They will also be trained on how to audition for future dance teams and coached on performance techniques.
Dancers not selected for DTE teams are encouraged to continue dancing on the Rec Team to work on their skills for the next audition. DTE members must commit to the June through March schedule. Fees and uniform costs are non-refundable as we donate a portion to ZUMC, the community through Zfit Club, our scholarship program & pay coaches.
